Production site: Roseto degli Abruzzi – Teramo.
Vine variety: Montepulciano D’Abruzzo.
Sun exposure: South, south-west.
Soil position: hills of 100 metres a.s.l.
Growing system: spurred cordon; a selection of the grapes is made during the developing season in order to get a limited quantity of fruit but of very high quality.
Soil type: Clayey of medium texture (red clay), well exposed.
Period of grape harvest: Second and third weeks of October.
Bottling: April four years after the harvest, after the maturation in wood barrel, the ageing in oak barriques for 12 months and the fining in bottle for 12 months.
Color: Intense and dark rubin red, that evolves in time.
Smell: Intense, rich, celestial, with notes of cooked red fruit, reminders of black cherry, plum, currant, myrtle, dried flowers and spices as liquorice root, vanilla, black pepper and tobacco.
Taste: it shows its generosity with a great intensity, dry and very warm, soft, fairly fresh, good tannins and sapidity, great and complex smell-taste persistency.
Food matching: grilled and baked lamb, aged pecorino cheese, goat and sheep meat of the abruzzese cuisine.
